Overall Methanol Business
MGC started to produce methanol in our natural gas field in Japan in 1952. The first overseas investment for the methanol business came with the Saudi Methanol Company, which is called AR-RAZI, and it started operations in 1983. The second methanol production base was established in Venezuela, which is called METOR, and it started operations in 1994. The third one started operations in Brunei in 2010. Total 8 trains have been operated in three countries under Mitsubishi Methanol Process.
As MGC has expanded the methanol business in the world, MGC has developed necessary functions for the successful implementation of the methanol business including license of production technology, catalyst, operation know-how, development of downstream and marketing & logistics networks. The integration of these functions supports and enhances MGC overall methanol business.
